The Newell Housing Foundation provides affordable housing and quality care for seniors, individuals, and families in Alberta.


We enlisted Colbi at Partek to make us a new website showcasing our housing options, providing information, and allowing potential clients to apply online.
I had very little experience with website design going into this process. I found the entire process ran smoothly and efficiently. Colbi effectively communicated to me what was required from me and what she would be doing. Timelines were met and communication was excellent. Colbi had great ideas for our site, she accommodated all of our requests and the final product far surpassed our expectations. We felt Colbi went above and beyond to provide friendly, efficient service and we appreciated the training session we received on the website.
The website is beautiful. The design and colours used all tie into our logo. Our clients are now able to view the different housing options online as well as apply for our programs and send us requests for information.

Challenge:
The Newell Housing Foundation had recently merged organizations and was looking for a new website that showcased the new foundation. They were looking to include an option to easily apply for housing online, in addition to highlighting their various housing programs.
Approach:
This was a fresh start for the foundation – a new name, new branding, new programs, and new website.
The foundation wanted to clairfy their recent amalgamation, combining the Newell Foundation and the Newell Housing Association. This merger, with facilitation by the Government of Alberta, presented new opportunities to provide new housing programs, including low-income housing and rental assistance options.
Solution:
Clarifying the foundation’s inception and purpose was essential, as they are now able to provide residents of Southern Alberta with improved access to affordable housing. It was also important to showcase their rising position in the housing industry.
The merging of foundations meant there was a lot of critical information to combine and organize. It was important to establish a site map that is structured and easy to navigate. Categorizing the housing units based on the type of service provided and then by location, allows visitors to quickly identify if the appropriate housing opportunities are available in their area.
Increasing accessibility to their new services and programs was key. By adding the functionality for residents to apply online, it reduces obstacles or frustrations any potential residents may run into. It also creates efficiencies within the foundation’s internal processes, while streamlining and consolidating the application process.
