Quonset Days: The Greatest Outdoor Party on Dirt.
Quonset Days
Quonset Days is a local music festival held in Seven Persons, Alberta raising funds for the ALS Society of Alberta for research and support of those affected by ALS.
Challenge:
With a large increase in attendees in recent years, Trevor Biemans from Quonset Days had motivation to improve their patron’s online experience, particularly when it came to ease of ticket sales and providing information about the musician line-up and schedule. They also wanted to showcase their festival sponsors and fundraising efforts for ALS. We were inspired by their story and their successes in raising awareness and donations for ALS.
Approach:
Having grown immensely since the festivals start in 2010, the existing website was no longer an accurate reflection of the festival’s successes. The back end of the website was clumsy and frustrating to update, in addition, the navigation and content was cluttered and poorly organized.
Solution:
Our goal was to increase sales by highlighting the line-up and event schedule, while also creating a strong call to action for purchasing tickets. We aimed to showcase the festival using video and large imagery, updating the aesthetic of the website to match larger, successful musical festivals. Finally, we wanted to highlight the inspirational story behind the creation of the festival as it is Quonset Days support for ALS that encourages a lot of the community to attend the festival.
The Quonset Days website serves as their main driver for ticket sales, so the new design and aesthetic were critical in encouraging sales. Creating a strong hierarchy and visual call-to-action has increased click-through rates. In addition, the improved structure and navigation of the website has allowed users to easily locate the content they are interested in, which in turn increases the length of time they stay on the website.
As the Quonset Days was unable to host their live fundraiser event due to restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, they had to pivot in order to continue their fundraising efforts. In 2021, we added an e-commerce platform to their website to allow them to sell merchandise.
We had been operating a very outdated site for far too long. A decision was made to take the leap and put our trust in Colbi and the Partek team and we are incredibly pleased with the result. Not only is our new site clean, easy to navigate and vibrant, but traffic is up and the response is nothing but positive.

We had a very specific vision in mind and Colbi built exactly what we were after. Overall, Partek is an excellent choice for anyone looking to update or maintain their web presence.

Any hesitation we had at the beginning to do a full rebuild, has been completely abolished and we are beyond pleased with the results.
